Intro

Environmental science is a branch of science that discusses a lot about the environment where humans and other living things live. An environment is a gathering place for several groups of living things that carry out life simultaneously. With the environment, every creature living in the world can feel that they have a place to live.

Environmental science is a natural discipline that includes several other sciences such as physics, biology, chemistry, ecology, soil science, geology, atmospheric science, and geography to study and find solutions to problems that exist in the environment where we live and elsewhere. Environmental science provides a quantitatively integrated interdisciplinary approach to the study of environmental systems.

Related fields to be studied are environmental learning and environmental engineering. Environmental learning combines various social sciences to understand human relationships, perceptions, and policies regarding the environment. Environmental engineering focuses on design and technology to improve the quality of the environment in various aspects. Environmental scientists work on such subjects as understanding the processes occurring on earth, refuting energy systems, pollution control and mitigation, natural resource management, and the effects of climate change. Environmental problems often include the interaction of physical, chemical, and biological processes.

In Environmental Science, you will learn a mix of concepts and various sciences such as, ecology, biology, biochemistry, hydrology, oceanography, meteorology, soil science, geography, demography, economics, and so on. The learning aims to study and solve problems that concern the relationship between living things and their environment.

In the Environmental Sciences department, you will also study various sciences that study living things with their environment, ranging from social, economic, and health aspects.

This learning can be said to be a concept of science that is interrelated with each other to overcome the problem of the relationship between living things and their environment.

Initially, humans lived together with nature, humans lived in an environment consisting of biotics, abiotic, and socio-cultures that were still running harmoniously, harmoniously, and balanced. The capacity of human abilities continues to increase in line with the development of science, technology, and lifestyle, the development of the times that have human desires and needs is also getting higher so that the carrying capacity of nature in fulfilling it will be lower.

The capacity of human ability to meet the needs of life is based on biological needs, for example in the form of respiration and reproduction, basic human needs such as clothing, food, housing, and education, as well as basic needs to choose basically humans can always choose the best for themselves and their lives in social society.

Environmental problems arise, among others, caused by environmental pollution due to improper utilization and management of resources. Environmental pollution will cause a decrease in the quality of the environment which has an impact on the survival of human life and other living things.

This is because of man’s erroneous view of nature and violates environmental ethics because man considers himself separate from the environment. For this reason, there is a need for efforts to save the environment, there must be a fundamental change in humans in looking at their environment. Man lives grow and develop in his natural and socio-cultural environment. In its natural environment, humans live in an ecosystem, namely a unit or functional unit of living beings with their environment. You can read the full story on the Blue Ocean page.
