Besides being a professor, the author is also a co-director of the Health Psychology program at UCLA.

Shelley Taylor has received some notable awards, including an Outstanding Scientific Contribution Award in Health Psychology and the American Psychological Association’s Distinguished Scientific Contribution to Psychology Award.
